Night Wolf & Lois Powell Build Something You Can Walk Through

Night Wolf constructs an atmosphere through music rather than writing songs. He builds emotional structures through sound, creating hard, unyielding areas that you can physically walk through as much as hear. With The Laws Of Life, his newest release and fourth collaboration with Lois Powell, the structures come alive.

It begins softly. The sound is almost like a blur. Lois produces her first sound as if she was a memory you didn't know you still had — delicate, soft, layered, and with honest qualities that seem unrefuted. The website BBC Introducing called her voice 'delicate' — that is a very poor term to describe what you will experience from this track. You can also sense the weight of this piece – it reminds you of that last beer left at the end of the night, untouched, that you still think about.
And then it kicks in.
As an artist, Night Wolf (the producer) uses two genres (indie and commercial) to create an atmosphere where the listener gets lost in music. By utilizing pizzicato strings and the low hum of dark soft synths, he tricks the listener’s sense of time while giving them a conversation with their younger self (advice, regret, comfort) via their youth (youth is referred to as a conversation with oneself in this case) - all occurring at a speed slower than the original motion.
Just before you can get comfortable in the dream state of the previous layers…impact. A hard ass beat hits very hard at the end of this song - Fear. Power. Precision - A trademark of Night Wolf’s - being able to control chaos with an end goal.
Night Wolf’s story began at an open mic in Bedford, with little forethought, just being at the right place at the right time, now paired with EscaVolt Records as a completely self-sufficient business model, Night Wolf's mission is built around creating a “sound first” ecosystem.
Not noise. Not a fad.
Vision.
