Eddie Pellon got his first lesson on guitar from Russ Davis; he went in expecting some chords and perhaps a tip about tone, but he did not expect that this lesson would be what caused Peningo Riders to be born. Every guitar riff that Eddie played turned into a full-fledged song, and, after that first guitar lesson turned into an albums worth of collaboration, Love Ain't Everything became the beginning of a journey steeped in the history of American Rock.

Fast forward to January of 2026 and Peningo Riders were releasing a new single called Duck That Jeep. It sounds as if the music is the soundtrack for any open highway and yet, it has the unmistakable vibe of a Stevie Ray Vaughan shuffle. The track does not simply support the genre of Southern Rock; instead, it jumps in with both feet, bringing with it a sense of Blues-inspired grit, Zydeco elements combined with the sounds of 80's Rock Power into the culmination of a high-energy, inspired exhibition of freedom. It captures the spirit of the open highway through the sounds of asphalt, the humming sounds of tires on pavement and the laughter of people who have left a rubber duck on someone's Jeep as a way of saying goodbye to a new friend in a manner that no one realized they needed a soundtrack for.

With 47 countries embracing 47 different countries and Brazil embracing Duck That Jeep like it has been theirs forever, authentic guitar-driven Americana still resounds around the world. Not only is Peningo Riders' music an homage to and an innovative take on artists such as The Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Led Zeppelin, The Journey, etc.; it also exudes an individual and personal touch. Peningo Riders have given their work a unique fingerprint.

Eddie and Russ are first and foremost storytellers. Their songs are partial glimpses into the American experience. The snapshots of American life (the people, the events, the stories) have the energy of a garage show combined with the polished, smooth, professional musicianship developed through years of experience. When listening to the songs, you can almost feel the dust on the dashboard, the warmth of the sun on the hood, the excitement of something new starting to happen.

Hop on in; grab a spot. The road is long, and the Peningo Riders are driving down it with guitars in hand, the power of freedom in the engine, and a duck in the back seat.
